Annual Conference
Annual Conference
Bryan and Michael have been in Glendive this week for Annual Conference along with other leaders from Churches throughout Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota. Every year our churches gather together to discuss the various things that are going on in our region. Probably the most exciting thing happening right now is in the area of church planting. Over the last year we have launched church plants in Sheridan, Wyoming and Helena, MT. The Sheridan church is currently ministering to nearly 100 people and the Helena plant, now just a few weeks old is ministering to 160+.
So what's the big deal about being a part of the Evangelical Church? The most important thing that we can do is team up with other parts of the body of Christ for encouragement, accountability, church planting and missions. The old maxim "better together" really is true. Over the past year we our churches have been praying for us as we completed the building project and weathered the economic turndown. In addition, they have contributed needed care, encourgement, resources and counsel. At the same time we have been participating in blessing other church through our financial support and prayers. Here are a couple of specific ways you can be praying for other churches:
Sheridan: Our Sheridan church started getting it's feet wet about this time last year. They have been facing significant challenges the greatest of which began when some of thier launch team was unable to move to Sheridan to help with the Church plant. This has left them with a smaller launch team than what they planned. If this were compared to a birth we would call this plant a "premie." The church was birthed without an ideal birthweight. Be praying for Pastor Michael Aimes, his wife Jennifer and the rest of their team. Pray for an unleashing God's resources on the new church and pray for God's empowering presence as they seek to minister to the Sheridan area.
Helena: Helena is a brand new Church plant, quite literally weeks old. Their first service had over 200 people and since then the have had between 160 and 180. Keep Pastor Adam Hushka and his wife along with their team. Again pray for God's empowering presence as they seek to minister to the Helena area.
