The “Normal Christian Life” is a call to a new identity found in Christ. It is literally a conversion of life and character. The “Normal Christian Life” is exciting, challenging, and life-changing. It is also hard because habits change, time commitments change, and one starts the process of dying to self and living for God. In this series we are going to be looking at a single aspect of the Christian life each week of the series with the purpose of learning more about what it means to be a Christian.
What does “The Normal Christian Life” look like? It’s not normal by any regular definition of life, but the Word of God sheds light on what the normal Christian life looks like. The normal Christian life is countercultural and shockingly different than normal as it is typically defined. What does God’s Word say about what a Christian should look like?
Believers are commanded to love each other. Love is to characterize the believer’s life. Anything that gets in the way of love has to be “put away.” Anything that promotes godly love has to be “put on.” We are called to genuine fellowship, loving relationships, and Christlikeness. They are not an option for anyone who calls themselves a Christian.
This morning we celebrate our 2017 graduates! May the Lord bless you with courage and endurance as you use the gifts and talents God’s given you!
As a church, we wish each mom a Happy Mother’s Day! Proverbs 31:28 says, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” May the Lord bless each mom present. May He be a light for your feet, a lamp for your way, and the wisdom you need for each day!
